Q: if I use the sleep/wake button to lock the iphone i do not get any phonecalls or text messages or emails

if i press the sleep/wake butto to lock the iphone i do not get any telephone calls , textmessages en emails anymore

iPhone 4, iOS 7.0.2

Sounds like you have -> Do Not Disturb enabled.
Open the Control Center (swipe up ont eh screen) and tap the moon icon to turn it off.
Or Settings > Do Not Disturb.
