Q: "You can't open the application TOEFL.osx because PowerPC applications are no longer supported"

I installed a cd and when I try to open the application a message appears: "You can't open the application TOEFL.osx because PowerPC applications are no longer supported". I also tried installing it in Windows (Parallels) but couldn't find the .exe file, which appears in other computers with another version of windows. Could somebody help me please?

If the OSX is Lion ot Mt. Lion, PPC apps are not supported any more. You will have to find compatible updated applications or partition your HDD and install Snow leopard.

    Ciao.

You are running Lion or Mountain Lion that no longer support Rosetta, so you cannot run any PPC-only applications.

Upgrade your software, if possible, from the developers. The software is for OS X, so naturally there is no using it on Windows unless you have the Windows executable.

You are running OS X 10.7 or above which doesn't have Rosetta to run earlier PowerPC processor binaries like OS X 10.5 and 10.6 does.

You will need to find a Intel processor and OS X 10.7 or above compatible version of the program or install OS X Snow  Leopard Server into Parallels and then the software into that.

There is a thread on YouTube and at the MacRumors forums how to go about both.

It's because the version of the software is for PPC based processors of old and no longer existant, you need Rosetta and that's only on 10.6

    Snow Leopard on 10.7+ Mac
