Nov 17, 2013 2:52 PM in response to randers4by Golfing dude,randers4 - Your instructions worked for me. I deleted my old iCloud account then logged back in with my current iCloud ID and password. I'm not sure if all my old data is lost, but I should probably do another backup soon to make sure. Thanks for your help.

Nov 22, 2013 8:16 PM in response to randers4by dains859,I also have the same problem of different iCloud email (old email) than my updated Apple ID. I can't sign into iCloud because I don't remember the password. When I follow your advise to delete the iCloud from settings it says it will delete everything from my iPhone which I of course don't want. Everything is backed up but still unsure about losing everything. Thanks for any help.

Nov 22, 2013 8:54 PM in response to dains859by randers4,Go to icloud.com and sign in with the account ID you are trying to change your device to. If you iCloud data appears there, you can safely delete the old account. When you sign back in with the new ID, the iCloud data in that account will sync to your device.
If you have any photo stream photos on your device that are over 30 days old that are not already in your camera roll, save them to the camera roll before deleting the account to avoid losing them. To do this, open your my photo stream album, tap Select, tap the photos, tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow), then tap Save to Camera Roll.

Nov 23, 2013 3:18 PM in response to randers4by dains859,Ok, I signed in and all my info was there. When I try to delete account, it says I have to submit password in order to turn Find My iPhone off!!! Boy is this frustrating!!!

Nov 23, 2013 3:21 PM in response to dains859by randers4,Go to https//appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID. Tap edit next to the primary email account, tap Edit, change it back to your old email address and save the change. Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address. You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone on your device, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iDevice when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud). Next, go back to https//appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was. Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

Nov 24, 2013 7:48 AM in response to freddyistanbulby randers4,No. That's activation lock. The only way to fix that is with the cooperation of the previous owner, who must perform the steps listed here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515.

Nov 24, 2013 8:08 AM in response to freddyistanbulby randers4,You're welcome. They should be able to do this remotely using Find My iPhone on icloud.com, as explained under "If the previous owner is not present". Good luck.

Dec 3, 2013 7:28 PM in response to randers4by DanielDixon,So I just got a new 5 for work. During setup, I couldn't remember at that moment which backup option was most current - tunes or cloud - and I picked tunes. After setting up the new phone, I was stuck with the old icloud ID and login which I couldn't rmember nor have access to the old email due to a different job. So I went throught the process of changing back to the old email on ICloud using Randers' instructions. The problem that I now have is that it requires validation - and that link was sent to the old email I can never access. I wanted to just completely clear and reset the phone and start the setup over with cloud, but in the process, I deleted all settings. Now I have a new Iphone that doesn't work and is locked. I can't clear it off until I get the cloud password debacle fixed. Any suggestions?

Dec 3, 2013 7:33 PM in response to DanielDixonby randers4,Try recreating your old ID from your current ID again. You shouldn't need to verify the old email account. Just save the settings. Then wait a few minutes for the servers to update and try to use your current ID password again.
