Macbook battery "bulging"

Yesterday I happened to run mu hand along my battery. I found it wasn't flat (anymore?). I quickly removed the battery from the machine to look at it and didn't see it bulge to much, however when I felt both sides there is a definate bulge in the (almost) middle of the battery (along the long side). I'm worried this sisn't as it should be.

Anyone else noticed this? And should I be worried?

thanx

Yup. Happened to me. I wish I could post a pic. Mine was really bulging. Rippled aluminum, big gap between white plastic and aluminum. plus, I think it is leaking. It has a very strong smell like acetate or like nail polish remover. Apple is sending me a new one. Also (quite smart) they advised me to disconnect the battery and not to use it.
I heard it was a macbook pro issue and not so much of the regular MB.
Who knows....

Yeah mine's bulging too, had it for just over a month and it has a definite round lump on it, to the point where it doesn't sit flush with the mac. Also has a nail-polish-remover style smell at the bulging end. Pretty dodgy hehe. I called apple care from the UK, and was told they could send a box around to pick the macbook up or I could take it to my local store (bluewater in kent).

Need to try and book an evening slot at their 'genius bar' now tomorrow on the internet and hope I can get a slot in the evening... Hassle hassle hassle.

Went to the genius bar in bluewater and was told that they could order a replacement battery no problem, but since the macbook is only around 5-6 weeks old, and is exhibiting the squishy trackpad problem too, that I should call the apple online store and request a brand new macbook, and that I could quote the store on me deserving a new product...

So let's see what happens.. I'm a new customer with apple and I await to see how willing they are to help.
