let me export to the compresser 4 all of a sudden it taking me too compresser 3 this just started happen what do i do

Put Compressor3 in a folder in Applicaitons – preferably with any other FCS2 applications you have on your start-up disk.

What would make it happen out of no where . I been using compresser 4 for like 8 months and it work fine any ideas Bon that ? Will try what you said as soon as I get back to my computer
I don't know why this just started to happen unless v3.0 were somehow moved from its location.
I once had FCP7 get confused between Motion 4 and Motion 5 when I failed to follow Apple's installation recommendations but never a problem with FCPX going to the wrong app. (But I don't use the Send to Compressor workflow.)
When you have the legacy apps already installed on your system, the new pro app download moves the old ones into a folder, named Final Cut Studio. That's what I was getting at when I suggested you create a new folder for C3.

i try moving the file out of app it is still launching the old compressor what should i do . take a bat to the computer?

Any odd behavior – crashes?
Do you have the entire FCS suite installed and what version is it?

I think it from the update of os no new programs install
no out of the ordinary crashes the usual few crashes here and there.

Where are the applications? They are both calked Compressor and cannot both be at the root level of the Applucations folder.

So C4 works fine if run on its own – apart from FCP.
But did you indicate that you recently updated your OS? From what to what?
And again, is this FCS2 or FCS3?

i update like a week ago and i think this is where all my problems are coming from.
yes c4 work all by it self just when i hit send to comp it go right to c3
FCP7 only works with Compressor 3. Compressor 4 works with FCPX only.
i have exported 40 wedding through fcp 7 to com 4
but since i updated my computer it stop working
