I downloaded a screensaver for my imac and it's not showing at all. All it says is blocked-plug in. I've browsed a couple of similar questions and answers on here but nothing seems to be working. Any advice or help would be much appreciated.

It works completely fine on my mac laptop, so I do know it works and the problem isn't anywhere with the screensaver.

I have google Chrome as my browser and I think that works differently than Safari.
I did look into my system preferences and whenever i try to check updates on the other/flash player option it crashes the whole system preferences.
any help there as well?
I don't use Google Chrome, but it sounds like you have some other problem if System Preferences is crashing when you are trying to update Flash Player.
1. Restart your Mac, quit all open browsers (Chrome, Safari, etc.) and then try updating Flash Player from the Other Preference.
2. Are you running in your Admin. Account or other User Account....? If not log into your Admin. Account and then try updating Flash Player.
