Mac Mini Server (Mid 2010) 8GB RAM Upgrade impossible - 6GB works well?!

Hello dear community!

I have a mid 2010 Mac Mini Server running with 4GB of RAM (2x4GB). I tried to do an upgrade to 8GB (2x4GB) with two Kingston KTA-MB1066/4G modules.

Unfortunaltely the MacMini seems not to accept this module in Bank 0, so that I can only run 6 GB (Bank 0 2GB + Bank 1 4GB).

Is there any workarround to get the second 4GB module running on Bank 0.

You may want to try again. It is possible that you did

not have the modules fully seated the first time. Also,

switch the 4gig modules. It may also be possible that

one of them is bad.

FWIW, I am running 8gig in my 2010 Mini without issue.

Just to add a couple things Woodman's good advice, I'll add that one of your modules might be bad. Also, Kingston wouldn't be my first or even second choice for RAM. I buy my RAM from 1 of 2 sources: OWC or Crucial Tech.

I have tired several times, with both modules in all possible combinations. If I put 4GB in back 0, I cannot boot and get some slow beeps.

Both 4GB modules are running on Bank 1.

The supplier offered me to exchange the module by a different brand. Maybe I should take this option.
