Can't copy & paste in Safari email

I have OSX 10.6.8, (snow Leopard) Power PC, G4. (new Jan. 2012). For 2 year, I have been able to

highlight text, with mouse, in one email and paste it into a new email - until October 2, 2013. In Safari, and also Firefox. I Cannot

do it anymore. I can paste from a document to email, but not email to email. So maybe it is just the copy function.

For the past two weeks I have been going around in circles with Comcast/Xfinity about them problem. Finally after paying fifty busk

for tech support, I was told that it's not Comcast/Xfinity's problem, but Safari/Apples problem. Is this true? Has anything changed with Safari?

Or did the settings on my computer get screwed-up?

P.S. Comcast/Xfinity did give me a "work-around" to the problem: Highlight text and then right click on mouse. Then drop down menu appears.

I click on copy. Then I go to new email & hit command V, and it pastes. I do not like to do copy & paste this way. Up until Jan. 2012,

I was using OSX OSX 10.4.11 - 8 years old - with a single function mouse. I still haven't gotten use to the new mouse.

MAybe I'm the problem?

It sounds like, if cmd-C copy works everywhere (including in Safari and Firefox, on regular web text) except for the Comcast email system, they're using some bizarre coding that prohibits copy from working. If that's the case, unfortunately nothing you can do about it other than use one of the other methods. Or use a desktop email program like Apple Mail to pick up your Comcast email.

Your last (e-mail) RE:

. . . Comcast email system, they're using some bizarre coding that prohibits copy from working. . .

Didn't post here. But thanks! Will go back to Comcast. They're the worst. Talked to Executive Office yesterday and they are the worst of the worst.

P.S. Funny, I had to click-right on mouse to copy the above into this message. Couldn't cmd-C & cmd-V to do this. Then I get this dashed box around??????????

P.P.S Are there any settings/preferences, in Safari, that could have been somehow changed??????????
