trouble moving itunes library - its saying i need to locate music

i have followed the apple instructions of how to move my itunes library from my old computer to a new one via a external drive. all the music appears to be in itunes but when i go to play them its asking if i want to locate them?? !! Help i have no idea what to do next !!??
