Hi - how do I adjust my wireless trackpad's sensitivity to touch? I keep selecting things when I only want to scroll?

First, read the following: Portables and Magic Trackpad: Jumpy or erratic trackpad operation

If it does not help, then continue:

The Magic Trackpad offers no user-adjustable touch sensitivity parameters, only the option to disable "tap to click" which isn't likely to address your concern.

I suggest you bring it to an Apple Store for evaluation. Two outcomes are possible:

    1. they will conclude it's perfectly OK, or
    2. it's broken and can't be fixed.

In either case, ask for another MTP off the shelf (if your iMac's warranty has expired you'll have to pay for it).

If the new one results in a demonstrable performance improvement, two other outcomes are possible:

    1. In the case of (1) above: The Apple Store was wrong. Ask them how they intend to rectify their error.
    2. In the case of (2) above: Keep it.

If the new one results in no improvement: it's something that can't be fixed.
