Why is iPhone 5C and 5S so much more expensive in Sweden than in the US?

I've been waiting for the new 5C for a couple of weeks now. It costs $549 in the US and that's about 3500 SEK. But when it launches here in Sweden it costs about 5200 SEK - over $800!!!! Anyone knows why? Is it because swedes likes iPhone? :S

Don't forget that simple marketing comes into play as well. If the market analysts feel they can charge more for something in one place over another, they will do so. There is nothing that compels any company to price uniformly in all the markets they sell their product in. The do their market analysis for each specific market, and set prices accordingly.

Many things sold in the USA vary widely in price just within the USA itself.

That was kinda what I suspected. Bad Apple! :D

what's bad about being smart business people? Companies exist to make profits and they will charge what the market will bear. If the market reacts by not buying because the price is too high, the price will be reduced? Simple market forces at work - highschool economics. Apparently, Apple feels their sales in Sweden at the current price point are going well - if you want to change the price, stop buying the product at that price.
