osx 10.8.4 copy to apache webdav

Opening apache webdav in finder - all files visible.

switching to other screen/app to do work and return to finder => files gone

copying local files back to webdav and all files again visible on webdav in finder

why this strange behaviour (that files don't seem to be copied to webdav server)?

i asked the colleague but the actual problem is that webdav does not refresh on access.

so he is presented with an incomplete list of files.

the same happens when he drags new files to the webdav server, they are not immediately visible.

the colleague's workaround:

disconnect webdav and reconnect, then webdav present a complete list of files and directories.

the next question is:

how to force OSX to automatically refresh the webdav directory on access?

i talked to yet another colleague here and he said Finder is substandard at Network shares and has an app for refreshing these shares in Finder called RefreshFinder (it adds a Refresh manually-button to Finder). we sent it to the colleague having a problem with his shares and he is going to use it and let us know how it works.

thanks for all the help!

kind regards

I am unaware of anything substandard about how Finder accesses network shares. The problem is probably caused by proxy issues on your network. WebDAV runs through HTTP and incorrect caching can cause the problems you describe. I use WebDAV all the time and without any intermediaries between me and the server, everything works fine.
