cannot get mail error in ios7

As of this morning IOS7 email app cannot get mail. I'm using google apps mail.

I've checked the availability of accounts, access via web and gmail app are both good.

I've deleted and re-added the accounts, although the phone says it cannot verify the accounts during the add process. I've turned wifi off and on, I've done a soft reset on the phone.

It seems directly related to either IOS7 or the mail app in IOS 7.

Anyone else having this issue?

BTW, it's on all our devices that are upgraded to IOS 7.
