If FaceTime is muted and you can't unmute it, first try recording audio in another application. This will help determine if the behavior is isolated to the FaceTime app.

If the microphone works in other applications, try the first four steps of our iPhone assistant:

Have you got Siri on your lock screen Removed Siri from my lock screen and FaceTime worked as normal.
