Q: how do i get my contacts back when backup restore failed?

i recently did a system reset but when i attempted to restore my backup the message said it had failed. i have tried again and error message doesn't appear again but i still don't have my contacts back. what are my options?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7.0.2

i have solved my own problem by resetting my computer then retrying backup restore & this time it worked and i have my contacts back
