Q: Restore error 3194 instuctions did not work for me. Did not have to edit gs.apple.com.

iOS: Restore error 3194 or 'This device isn't eligible for the requested build' after following instructions. I did not have to edit  gs.apple.com. It didn't exist in HOSTS. Any suggestion?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7

    Were you trying to install and older iOS on your device? Was your computer ever used to jailbreak a phone or is or was your phone ever jailbroken? The only other answer if that support document did not work was to take the device to Apple for service.
