Unwanted syncing between devices

I'm having issues with Multiple iOS devices syncing to each other when on same wifi network. When my mom and I are on the same wifi our iPads sync to each other. I recently also got an iPhone that seems to make things more confusing. I am now receiving text messages on my iPad sent from my moms iPhone. I'm not very good with technology, so any advice would be greatly appreciated. Has anyone else had this problem?
