mac 10.5.8 cannot find Primera Bravo 2 autoprinter

downloaded the drivers from website 3 times and have put in 3 different locations - applications, hard drive and mac user. Can boot it up and do a test print but nothing else. Still it cannot be seen. Go to print / no printer selected / 2 options - add printer and print fax preferences. The first, add printer - printer is seen, both name and location[mac user's powerbook G4] print using / select driver - Primera driver not on the list. Select other / mac user / library / printers / primera - chose and open - nothing. The second print and fax preferences / click to add / printer is seen, both name and location [mac user's powerbook G4] print using / select driver - Primera driver not on the list. Select other / mac user / library / printers / primera - chose and open - nothing again. Done the software update first at every stage. Any advice is welcome, but it is the no printer selected that worries me as it is plugged in and able to do test prints

The driver does not allow printing, it is needed to allow the Mac to communicate with the printer but you will need to and use PT Publisher for Mac to control and print.

Assuming you have Leopard (10.5), download and install the publisher software from the Primera website here: PT Publisher for 10.5

Thanks for reply. Have already done the ptp route, doesn't work. What i regard as important here is to forget about the printer and focus on why, when i try and print anything, the disc printer is not listed as an option, and even when found, drivers are not available. Have worked on 6 diffferent macs with this disc printer and have never had a problem before or had to download ptp. Primera tell me that i just have to download the driver and it should work. It doesn't. But need to focus not on the printer, but why it isn't being found.
