No, you will need to be in the UK with a UK billing address on your account to be able to buy from the UK store. You can try requesting that the programs that you want to buy be added to the NZ store, but ultimately it's the TV company that will have to grant Apple a license to sell it there : http://www.apple.com/feedback/itunes.html
To my disappointment New Zealand doesn't have access to the TV channel and therefore the ability to purchase shows in iTunes.
I don't get it, we are basically the same as Australia (have the same views on TV / Movies) but for some reason we are disavantaged against Australia. Must have won the rugby once to often, not that I would have thought that Apple would have cared about such things!
When will TV series (UK or otherwise) be avaliable in the NZ iTunes store?
We are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know if/when TV programmes might be available there - but before it can happen the TV companies will need to agree to allow Apple to sell their programmes there.
I understant that a specific TV maker (provider) might restrict content e.g ABC, Fox but for all providers to block content suprises me, in the free market place (laughs out loud)..
I can understand if Game of Thrones is blocked for release, as it is in Australia because FoxTel has purchased the rights to release the series before it would appear on iTunes. ðŸ˜
(clearly I will never purchase FoxTel!)
But for Apple to restrict a whole market from iTunes seems strange to me when for all purposes NZ is a mini Australia that would thrive on TV series
It's not Apple blocking it, they can only sell content where they have licenses to sell that content. Until enough of the studios grant Apple NZ licenses for their programmes then it isn't worth Apple having a TV Programme section in the NZ store.
Ok why is the menu option disabled in iTunes?
I have movies but not TV menu option in the iTunes menu, which suggest a wider conspiracy.
You won't get the TV option because there aren't any TV programmes available in NZ, and that won't happen until if/when the TV companies/rights-holders grant Apple licenses to sell their TV programmes there.
Humm, this isn't a good thing right 😟
Ok, on another question, but related, if I move iTunes stores e.g. Australia to NZ (why??) will I still remain with the permission to play the previously purchased TV series?
You can only use the Australian store if you are in Australia with an Australian billing address and payment method (e.g. a credit card issued by an Australian bank) on your account. You will be able to continue to play them.
Yes I agree, but I would like to emigrate to New Zealand and move my iTunes accounts accordingly, but if I'm restricted. The Australian account will never be closed and I will retain my billing address in Australia for the purchase of Apple content.
This isn just another form of Geolockng and restricting information!
