If you recently updated the AirPort Express base station's firmware, try downgrading it back to the version that was previously working for you.

Thanks, but no luck here either. Wondering if the amp inside is blown. Everything says it's working bu no sound. It as been getting hot lately.

Have you tried substituting a pair of stereo headphones to connect to the AirPort's audio port? If so, did you get sound using this method?

Yes tried headphones and different stereo all the same. It's a first gen. Don't know where to go from here. Should I just buy a new one? Thanks

Then, unforunately, it sounds (no pun intended) like the audio circuit or port is faulty on the Express.

However, I would recommend that you perform a "factory default" reset on it first. Note that this may take a few attempts to get it to stick. If this fails to rectify the problem, then a new Express may be in order.

Finally, since you have tried other destinations for the audio, you may want to also try different input sources as well.
