Q: How do I locate my songs i have added as they dont appear in recently added when I add them

I press add file to library then locate the file from downloads, click on it, then open and the window closes to go back to the normal itunes screen. When I go back to the recently added there is no sign of the track, but when I try it again it already says its in the library. Grrrrrrrrr I would be very grateful for some help please. Many thanks in anticipation.
