Q: Book cannot be 'found' when syncing to ipod

In itunes on my Mac, the cmd-I panel shows that the book is there in my itunes folder in the books subfolder.

Is it possible that this book can be viewed on an iPad but not on an iPod touch??

When I run iBooks on my iPos Touch and go to Purchased under Store, there is nothing there, even though I am signed into the same AppleId that I used to purchase this book.

Here's something odd: the diagnostic that shows up when I try to move the book onto my Touch says "'q' could not be moved, because it could not be found."  Now q is not the name of tthis book!  It is a name of a PDF file that i have previously moved successfully onto my ipod.

But when I go to Purchased, that book shows up as the most recent purchase.  It's title is Pentax K-01.  I click and drag that line in Purchased over to my ipod in the Devices section, and it starts a sync. Then I get this message bout how 'q' canot be found.

Is there a way to rebuild my iTunes Library and get these pointers straightened out?

I can report that this book shows in iBooks on my wife's iPad.  But why do I get such a misleading diagnostic message in iTunes on my iMac when I try to send it to my iPod Touch?  And where do I find out if a given book is viewable on an iPod touch in addition to being viewable on an ipad?

I suppose we have reached the end of the line on this issue.  The book cannot be read on an iPod Touch, and this is stated in the iTunes Store.  But having missed that statement, I am given a totally misleading messge from iTunes when I try to load it onto my iPod.
