Q: Forgotten iPad 2 passcode

My son changed his passcode (or his friends!) I have tried to restore ti from recovery as suggested but keep getting error 3194. have removed the security and checked hosts as suggested but continue to get it. I cannot start on another computer. I'm running IOS 6.1.3  I've been trying to fix this for 4 hrs now! Please help? Why can't Apple be like everyone else and have a recovery passcode sent to an email address securely like everybody else!!!

On one computer I got the error message 3194 and I followed the instructions for that but still got it. The other computers it would go through the process of upgrading and then complete but the passcode still needed to be put in afterwards.

To resolve error 3194, follow these instructions:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4451

As mentioned, turn off temporarily any security software and repair the hosts file, if necessary.

Also make sure that your Internet provider does not close certain ports that are required by Apple:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts1629

If you don't like a passcode, you can turn off the passcode (not recommended) in the Settings on your iPad.

I don't know how I can make it any clearer, I have done ALL of these things! I would turn the passcode off if I could get into it yo do it!  Thanks for your help but I've done all of these things already.. a number of times.

In your previous post you wrote "...but the passcode still needed to be put in afterwards...".

What did you mean exactly by this?

That you had to merely enter your passcode or that you have forgotten the passcode?

If you do not clearly describe the problem, how do you expect to receive precise help?

Therefore once again, if you have forgotten the passcode, then this is the only procedure to resolve that problem:

    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212

If that procedure does not work, then please clearly describe why it fails, supplying error messages and/or error codes and what exactly you did to solve the problem.
