Slow performance while beeping
My PowerMac is a G5 from 2005. It suddenly beeps two times and works very slowly. The beeping can continue for hours. Anyone seen this problem? Dying bettery? Hard drive crashing?
Mac OS X (10.6.8)

You have a failing power supply. Setting processor performance to "automatic" in the energy preference panel can reduce the noise.
Have you recently installed RAM?
Beeps on startup:
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images.
5 beeps = processor is not usable
Is the beeping coming from the speakers or internally?
Some Hard Drives will beep to denote problems.
I have not recently installed RAM. The beeping seems to be more internal than speakers. It is not doing it this moment in time, so I can not check for sure. But I am sure that I have tried to lower the volume to get rid of the sound.
Read this Apple document and see if any of the sounds are similar to yours: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2033
