My iPad has been off for a week and now all sound on it is not coming out of the speakers. How can I sort this out?

I turned my iPad off since Tuesday night and when I came back to it tonight, Saturday, he sound was not working for anything - YouTube, Music, Videos or Alarm. Mute is not on and everything is up to full volume. Could somebody please tell me how to resolve this issue? Is there a way I can do it from here and not have to send it in?
