Found my older Nikon Coolpix 5700 today. Took it to my sons game and took a bunch of pics. Came home, installed the cd, which said was successful..but when i plug camera into computer, nothing happens..not reading the camera/pics. What can i do!?
What Mac do you have, with what version of OS X?

no because my issue is my mac isn't even reading the camera..doesnt show up anywhere that its plugged in...
My Nikon DSLR never shows on the desktop. If is available when I install Nikon's ViewNX 2 software that includes a transfer program, and it shows if I launch Image Capture. It also shows if I remove the SD card from the camera and plug it into either a USB card reader or the built-in card reader on the side of my iMac or my MBP notebook.
I think Nikon does not want people messing with the file structure at the root level of the card and somehow forces the use of software to view and move files
