Oct 13, 2013 3:36 AM in response to Belette44by octopi,Depends what AC/DC album, but Back in Black was Nuemann U67 and U87 on the guitar cab. Older 50 or 100 watt Marshall heads with a mixture of either angled or straight Marshall cabs. They mixed and matched heads and cabs from song to song.
Very little,if any, added reverb or delay. Sometimes a touch of delay to separate the two mics a little.
Angus, a Gibson SG and Malcom a 1963 Gretsch Jet Firebird.

Speakers: cone material, voice coil diameter, wired series or parallel?
Cabinet material: Oak, Birch, Pine?
How do you expect the O.P. to get close without these important details..

Oct 13, 2013 9:07 AM in response to Pancenterby octopi,Those are some very good points. I have failed miserably and will hold my head in shame for an appropriate amount of time...............

Oct 13, 2013 9:38 AM in response to octopiby Pancenter,Seriously though... good info, thanks.
I know U67 & 87 were/are used for cab mics sometimes but I cringe to think of one close miking a Marshall cab even though they're rated for close to that level.

Oct 14, 2013 6:13 PM in response to Belette44by Organism,The SG is the most important thing for getting the Angus Young AC/DC sound. Maybe a Flying V.
If you're using Logic X, create a new Guitar or Bass track, and select the British Metal sound from the Distorted Gutar section.
Try manipulating and bypassing some of the effects. Open up the Amp effect in particular, and try twaddling some of the knobs.
I think you'll get there.
