Oct 12, 2013 6:58 PM in response to AnaMusicby johndisk0,Yeah, I knew I would get someone who would give me this link. I said I don't know their email address that they use for itunes. Therefore, I cannot risk this option because if I send it to the wrong email address, they may not be able to redeem my gift. I want to send them a code that they can use to download the album I bought for them.

Very perceptive of you.

If you have already made the purchase using your Apple ID then you cannot transer it to another Apple ID.

Oct 14, 2013 4:21 PM in response to johndisk0by johndisk0,Ok, I really want to thank you for trying to answer my question, but it seems as though I have not asked my question clearly enough, so I am going to try again:
I see an album in the itunes store that I want to give to a friend of mine. I have not purchased the album.
I do not know the email address they use for itunes, so if I buy it from itunes as a gift, I might send it to the wrong email address and they will not be able to receive it.
I have seen inserts in "dvd and digital copy" movies purchased from a store that have a long code that people use to activate their digital copy so they can take their movie with them on itunes.
I was wondering if it is possible to buy an album as a gift and somehow receive a code that I can email to my friend so they can activate and download the album from their own account. Does this make sense?
