Home sharing photos apple tv

I have trouble with home sharing on appletv . I manage to transfer my music successfully, the photos are repetitious, the downloading multiplies the amount of photos, could I clear all the photos and start again a d how is this done, when the photos are played on my tv screen they recycle the same few photos all the time. I suppose I have about 1500 but the appletv. reports I have 5000 with all the duplications. How to fix is my question.
