itunes error

Hello, When I try run itunes I get a windows error message telling me "itunes has encountered an error and needs to close" then when clicking error details I get "appname: itunes.exe, appver: 5.0.0.35, modname: unknown, modver:0.0.0.0, offset: 10001040" the exception infomation is "code: 0xc0000006, flags 0x00000000, record 0x0000000000000000, address 0x0000000010001040" If this helps.

Uninstalling/reinstalling or repairing does not work, I have run a few diagnostic programs and they where unable to find any errors with the installation.

As it stands I cannot run itunes at all.

Hi - I had a similar problem to yours. After talking to tech support, I found out that I had to uninstall both iTunes and Quicktime, then reinstall both. After I did both, I was able to run iTunes again. Also, in a kudos to apple, I did not lose any songs I had already purchased or scanned in from cd, plus it saved all my account information. I am going to cut and paste their response to me in this post - hope it helps you too.
