Please help, cannot 'save as .jpg'. Safari keeps trying to add .webarchive extension

I was able to right-click an image on the internet last night, click save as and save as a .jpg onto my computer.

But tonight, I'm getting either:

(image) xxxxxxxx.jpg Could not be exported as xxxxxxx.jpg.webarchive

or

Cannot save as xxxxx.jpg, click Both to save as webarchive

Not sure if this has something to do with a setting in Safari that I may have inadvertently changed? or something that may have happened in an update?

I'm doing screen captures as a way to continue working but this is really impacting how quickly I can do my work. Hoping someone out there might know what could be causing this and a way to correct. You'd be saving me big time here..
