Im trying to connect to my apple TV with my new iphone 5s but there is no airplay icon in my control centre, can anyone help? They are both on the same wifi and I have reconnectedand restarted both. Still no icon, is there something wrong with my phone? also, both have the latest updates,
iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.2
Just double checking because sometimes I make this error:
Are you sure WiFi is turned on for your IPhone? Do you see the WiFi icon illuminated in Control Center?
Sorry if that sounds obvious, but as I say, i've makde that error.
Yes everything seems to be working properly, wifi is working on both iphone amd apple tv, but the airply icon is nowhere to be found. im stumped

One thing it mentions is to make sure your Apple TV is not using a guest network. But there are other things to check listed there.
With IOS 7, swipe up to find airplay.
Jsr4858, did you ever resolve this issue. We have just got Apple TV and having the same problems, updates all iPad and phones and gone through trouble shooting, still no airplay option. Driving me crackers :-S
From any main screen, swipe from bottom up (as you would to show flashlight, bluetooth, etc.). You can select AirPlay from there, above flashlight, timer, calculator, camera icons.
I did the swipe but no airplay symbol there, I have 3 ipads and 3 iPhones at home and none of them have the symbol. Brought the apple-tv to a friend and it worked fine there, we have no neighbours so there are only one wi-fi to connect to, all units are updated...
What to do??
I am having the same problem, no airplay option to select on any of my Iphones or Ipads, becoming very frustrating, followed all trouble shooting options Nd still nothing. May have to call support for their assistance.
Apple docs say AirPlay requires a 802.11a/g/n WiFi network. Is it possible your router/iOS device is only using 802.11b for some reason?
