How do i make itunes play 5.1 audio

How do i make itunes play 5.1 audio

i am running windows 7 64-bit system and i have "Realtek HD audio manager" as my audio driver and in "windows media player" my music plays perfectly through my 5.1 "logitech z 5500".

But when i play my music through itunes it only plays through the front speakers and bass (as if it was a 2.1 system) i have tryed almost everything i can find but nothing seems to work.

Not even when i play songs i bought through the itunes store plays in 5.1.

my itunes settings are:

QuickTime settings

also to be noted i have turned speaker fill on in "Realtek HD Audio Manager"

PLEASE HELP!

I had same issue and I changed BITS PER SAMPLE option to 24 bit and it fixed the same issue.

I do not know if this is because my default audio format in Realtek HD Audio is also set to 24bit but 48K, I also changed Itunes to 48k and that should sound a little better.

Let me know is this seems to fix anyone elses issues.

Thank you! This worked perfect; I just had to match what was in the Realtek properties (48000Hz, 23-bit for me) and I can hear out of all the speakers now ^_^

Also changing from "Windows Audio Session" to Direct Audio worked.
