Do you agree with discontinuing support *and* documentation access

I'm OK with discontinuing support for vintage or obsolete models.

But I cannot understand why technical specification or documentation has been made unavailable for those models.

See http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1752

  • How can I now explain to someone what are the boot keys for a machine that blocks during startup?
  • How will I explain to my friend that he cannot upgrade to 2GB of RAM to extend the useablity of his machine by a year?
  • How do I show him that he needs to buy a new machine for what he wants to do?

And mostly, how do I tell him that a Mac lasts longer that a stupid PC, if even the documentation is unreachable after five years?

This is by far the most unfriendly decision Apple has made, to my own opinion.

Please tell Apple restore the access to facts and information for which they are the only authority!

Or tell me where to find it.

Pleeze.
