I can't pair the Bose SoundLink speaker

Last night the SoundLink speaker worked fine from my iPad2; today: nothing. I tried depressing the mute button on the speaker until all 3 LEDs came on. I tried pressing the Bluetooth button until the speaker beeped indicating that settings were cleared. I downloaded the current Bose driver. I updated the iPad iOS to 7.0.2. I tried pushing and depressing buttons again. I deleted the SoundLink from the list of Bluetooth devices. I deleted the other device in the list. I pushed and depressed more buttons. Nothing.

This is very frustrating as the standard fixes don't seem to work. Are there any other suggestions?

1. If your device requires a passkey, make sure the one you entered was correct.

2. Turn the speaker off and on again.

3. Clear the speaker memory.

4. Remove the speaker from the list of paired devices on your Bluetooth device.

5. Make sure all other Bluetooth device nearby are turn off.

6. Make sure your speaker is in discoverable mode.

7. Make sure the Bluetooth capability on your iPad is turned on.

8. Your Bluetooth device may be out of range – try moving it closer to speaker.

Branden,

Thanks for the interest but none of this worked. I spent this afternoon doing first the iCloud then the iTunes restore to no avail. I can get the speaker to pair with my PC, but the connection with the iPad appears lost for good.

And yes I have been doing all the east stuff too like depressing the mute button and/or the Bluetooth button on the speaker.

Deggie,

Thanks for the interest. I have been clearing the speaker memory religiously, first with the mute button, then with the Bluetooth button (depressing both until all three LEDs come on or I hear the beep).

In any event, just when all things seemed lost, a miracle occurred. I woke up this morning and was going to pair the speaker with my PC in order to listen to some music. Instead, out of habit, I decided to give the iPad another shot. After a few attempts, it paired!
