Home Sharing Failing to Load

Hi,

Currently experiencing problem where PC's cant access the home share from my Mac.

I have a couple of PC's which can seem to connect to each other and access the home shares from each others, but none of them can access the Mac's home share. the mac can access the PC's home share.

I'm not sure if the mac has something stopping PC's access it but I can access the home share from the mac on ipads and iphones.

If anyone can help then I would be more than grateful.

If you require any more information then please state and I will endeavor to supply this.

Have you allowed iTunes access in your Firewall settings.

the firewall on the mac is disabled (by default) and ive tried it with the firewall off on the pc as well.

it can find the mac within the home share, but when you connect you get the loading screen which loads and after about 5 seconds it just freezes. this is the case on each pc.

I must admit to tending towards thinking about the PC first when it comes to problem solving, but this time my first inclination is your Mac.

Where is the actual content stored, do you have any mobile devices that use home sharing and if so, do they see the Mac. Does the Mac use wifi or Ethernet.

The MacBook is connected via wifi. I haven't had a chance to try connecting via Ethernet yet but shouldn't make too much difference I don't think :/

I have successfully managed to use home share from both various iPads and iPhones and even Apple TV which is connected via Ethernet.
