I have a Mac Pro. How can I add the Airport icon to the menu bar so I can find and connect to wireless internet networks? It's normally just there on other Macs I have used. I have tried adding Airport through System Preferences > Network and clicking plus button but Airport is not in the dropdown list.

it's in system preferences -> network
click on wi-fi, then make sure the option "show wi-fi status in menu bar" is checked off
For the two answers above to actually show. You also have to have a WiFi connection in the left pane and selected. Then that box with "Show Wi-Fi status in menu bar" will show up.

Also not all Mac Pro computers have an AirPort card installed. Check in the System Profiler.
Thanks, I just found out my Mac Pro does not have an Airport Card. So no wonder I couldn't access internet wirelessly.
The menu bar at the very top of your computer and the Airport Icon is 2 to the left of the day and time. the first one is the Sound Icon the 2nd is the Airport Icon.
Where is the Airport icon on menu bar for Mountain Lion?
