iMac G5 Complete Restart in Hour Four of boot up...

Is this normal? Had a Kernal Panic so did a complete reboot, disconnect all periferals, disconnect power, wait 15seconds, reconnect and reboot. Should I keep on with the "boot" or is it just spinning it's wheel?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8), 2T 3.33GHz Intel2 4G-Ram

HowDeDooty! At exactly 5:59pm, my G5 shut down. When I restarted it it opened to the HD with flaga flying and all hands on deck. Patience paid off. the COMPLETE SHUTDOWN/RESTART worked, even if it took FIVE HOURS. Now I'm working on getting connected to the Internet. It's been "connecting" since 6:05 pm and counting. I'll keep yall posted!
