my ipod touch 5th gen can't really be recognized by itunes, I've already followed all the steps on your support page. itunes and itouch softwares were updated.

Did you do everything here:

Including
Removing and Reinstalling iTunes, QuickTime, and other software components for Windows XP
or
New cable and different USB port?
Runs this and see if the results help with determine the cause

Try on another computer to help determine if computer or iPod problem
