    Hello krauseemc,

Thank you for the details about the issue you are experiencing when using AirPlay on your Apple TV.

I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "Troubleshooting performance issues with AirPlay or AirPlay Mirroring" in the following article:

    Troubleshooting AirPlay and AirPlay Mirroring

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Regular, random dropouts of Airplay are a common occurrence since the introduction of iOS 7 and the support article you have suggested does not address this issue.  I am having the same problem watching video through Apple TV using Airplay with my ipad 3 since upgrading to ios 7.  This is not a connection speed issue, as I am getting 32-36 Mbps consistently through my cable internet connection and the random dropouts also occur when playing video that has been downloaded to my ipad.  The dropouts occur when using the YouTube to stream video, when streaming from the ABC iview app and when playing downloaded video via the itunes app.  When watching video via Airplay in any of these ways, the Airplay connection will randomly drop out. I do not experience any problems when streaming video directly from the Apple TV.

I also encountered the same problem after upgraded my iPad4 to IOS7. When i watch YouTube or other streaming website over airplay, quite often the connection get lost. I didn't had this problem with ios 6.

    Hi Sheila M

I have been experiencing streaming problems from both my ipads (4 and Mini) through my ATV2 via Airplay ever since upgrading to IOS7. I have updated the software on the ATV, powered everything off and back on, and checked my router, which is fine and in exactly the same place as it was before I started having the problems, so I can only think this is a problem with IOS7 not playing nicely with my ATV2.

The problems are to do with streaming - everything I try to watch, whether it's via iplayers (live and downloaded programmes) or YouTube, keeps jumping, so badly and regularly that it makes for very unpleasant viewing.

Please can Apple provide an update for ATV which is compatible with IOS7, so that it is possible to stream TV problems etc, onto our TV? This is what we bought the Apple TV to do and it's no longer doing it's job properly since IOS7 came to town. Really unhappy.

I have looked at the link you sent and nothing there helps.

    Thank you.

You can add me to the list.  I use downcast on my IPAD2 and iphone5 with IO7.  My airplay cuts out from time to time.  My home videos don't work at all.  All my software is updated on my devices including my Apple TV.  My router is fine.  Sigh.  Not happy.  I use airplay a lot.

This is a real problem. Airplay worked fine for a year or two with iOS 6.

Update to iOS 7 and the connection drops after 3-15 minutes.

I thought it was just a problem with video playback, but music stops too.

When it stops the Apple TV acts like it isn't air playing anymore. iPhone thinks it is playing but progress bar stops.

I'm having the same problem.  The wifi connection and router are fine.  The problem began after I upgraded iPad2 to iOS 7.  My Apple TV is up to date... when I select airplay, the iPad freezes up.  I also use airplay quite a bit... this is a big problem.  If I could switch back to iOS 6 I would, if only for this reason.  What is the solution here??

So my situation has improved a bit.  I reset my Iphone and IPAD (hold home button when shutting it off).  I can access my home videos and I can airplay video's too.  However, sometimes when the video is buffering, airplay stops and I need to start it up again.  Doesn't happen all the time but it does happen.

So my situation has improved.  Don't understand why.  I am sure I did a reset before and had issues.

I am having a very simlar problem, airplay is failing after differing amounts of time and only since the IOS7 update. I was assuming that it was a router problem so have just bought and installed a very expensive Apple Airport Extreme.

I am very disappointed that it has not solved the problem. I have a 120mb download speed and reach over 70mb over wifi. The router is in the same room as my 2nd Generation Apple TV. Works flawlessly from my mac pro using AirParrot over wifi, but not from my iphone5s with a 5GH connection!

Something is wrong with software somewhere.

I have had problems ever since I updated to IOS7...we no longer can view the picture with AirPlay and appleTV...we only hear sound. Please help.

I have exactly the same issue, tried everything on the troubleshooting articles.  It's definitely an ios 7 or an Apple TV update issue.  I have the latest version on all devices.  Used to work perfectly before ios upgrade, now no apps airplay for more than 15 mins or so before dropping out back to my ipad or iPhone.  Tried on 5ghz wifi also.  On three different routers.  Has to be an apple software issue.

I agree with what you have said about dropouts with Ipad Airplay and Apple TV and there is nothing to add. I wish Apple will solve this issue at their earliest convenience!

Moles from Google have infiltrated Apples iOS 7 dev team and crippled Air Play.

My experience confirms your issue.  I've used airplay with an iOS6 iPad 3 for months -- great performance. I just got around to updating to iOS7 yesterday. Airplay from the iPad (specifically Amazon Prime) just drops from the Apple TV and play resumes on the iPad. I'd say every 10-15 minutes.  Hoping and trusting its a bug that snuck through iOS7 regression testing.  Anyone know of Apple acknowledgment of the issue?
