mobile wifi constantly reboots

Away from home I use a Mobile Wifi unit, Huawei E589. Unfortunately whenver I try to surf the Netfrom my mid-2013 Macbook Air (OSX 10.8.5) the device reboots, sometimes several times while trying to get on to a site. The list, just this morning, includes Apple.com and amazon.co.uk. I'm reasonably sure it's not the Huawei because neither my iPad, iPhone or Windows 8.1 tablet cause this behaviour. It doesn't make any difference whether I'm using Safari, Chrome, or Firefox from the MBA and it even happens using Firefox and IE10 on a Parallels VM running Windows. However, it doesn't seem to cause any probems with my home Wifi system.

Any suggestions as to a solution or how to get more details on the issue would be useful.

Hello Rob,

Thank you for providing the details of the issue you are experiencing with your MacBook Air staying connected to your Huawei E589. I recommend following the steps in the section labeled, "Symptom: The network connection drops unexpectedly" in the following article:
