Multi-term searching without using Spotlight.

How can I search for a file that contains both the word "cat" and "dog", though they aren't next to each other. (So typing "cat dog" into a search field doesn't yield any results)


Also, how can I search for all files that contain the word "cat" and has the extention ".xim"?

iMac, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.3), Model ID 13,2 Late 2012 27", i7
