Video editing with my MacBook

HI!

I have a late 2008 MacBook aluminum unibody. Under the hood is a 2.4GHz Intel Core2 Duo with a recent upgrade to 8GB ram and a 750GB 7200rpm hdd. I want to get into videography and would like to know if these specs should be good enough to edit HD video in Adobe Creative Cloud. I am not interested in upgrading (buying a new) MBP after spending $3000 on video equipment as there is nothing wrong with my current MacBook. I plan on going traveling around Europe with this equipment.
