mail won't send through mail. app

I just checked into my hotel and and found at that my mail wasn't being sent through my mail app. I can recieve but no sending, it just stays in my outbox. I get a error message about my smtp. The weird thing is that I can still send mail through mac.com??? any suggestions?? Last time I stayed at this hotel everything was ok
