Anyone know why itunes BBC radio is not working?

For the last 24 hours none of the BBC radio stations seem to be working through itunes. They are still working on WMP, anyone have any ideas or experiencing the same thing?

Just in case you are not aware these feeds are still working (in Australia at least);

The app TuneIn Radio is still working, but iRadio UK is not and they stopped answering emails on the subject. The RadiON app was working, but seems to have stopped in the last day or two.

As I have all my media set up in iTunes the above are a good last resort but don't help with my main issue so if anyone comes up with a workaround please let us know.

Cheers..

Whoa -- they are back!

I got an email yesterday from some company asking me what I thought

about the answer I had received from the BBC concerming my recent

complaint about these iTunes services no longer working. The BBC reply

talked about their iPlayer service (which was not even the subject of my

compaint).

I told the survey company that I thought it was way too hard to file the

complaint in the first place and that the BBC reply was irrelevant. I described

again the problem I was reporting and 24 hours later it's working. Must be

be a coincidence!

I heard Richard Allinson saying yesterday on his Radio 2 show something about it being a fault that had affected Apple devices (.asx streams I am guessing). I didn't get all of what he was saying due to backrgound noise, but something along the lines of; listeners had complained and it was taken up, people got annoyed and it was escalated and resolved. The reason for mentioning it here is it sounds more like a technical issue after all, rather than a rights issue.

Either way I'm happily back listening to my daily soundtrack from the motherland!

Andy in Brisbane - still a Suffolk boi!

It's still not completely fixed for me... I have Radio 1, 2, 3, 5 and 6 visible in their respective categories, but Radio 4 is no longer in the News/talk radio stream.

And I've never been able to find BBC World Service on iPlayer. It doesn't seem to be a geographical thing - I travel all over the place, and have consistently been able to listen to my particular favourites (R3, R4, and R6) but never been able to find WS.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

Not sure why Apple isn't showing BBC Radio 4 in iTunes, but you can listen to Radio 4 by going to File->Open Stream... in iTunes and entering the following URL

For the World Service, enter the URL

Hi there w (can I call you w? is that too forward?)

Thanks for the link to BBC WS - that seems to work. But the R4 link (which, incidentally, seems to be for R4 long wave, not the primary R4 FM channel) doesn't work. Still no sign of the old BBC radio 4 - Radio for enquiring minds Hi band / lo band choices in itunes radio "News and Talk Radio". Presumably this is an oversight, since all the other BBC channels are back in place?
