how do I turn off my portrait lock

I recently downloaded the most recent apple update for my iphone. I do not have the ability to have my screen use the landscape view for any application.

How do I unlock the phone from portrait mode?

Swipe up from the bottom of the screen to display the Control Panel. The rotation lock is in the upper right corner.This would be a good time to review the features and use of iOS 7: http://support.apple.com/basics/iphone
