Can I access One note on my iMac?

There isn't a OneNote app for Mac. Office 2011 has an Upload Center app that should sync with OneNote using your Office Live ID. I've never used it myself because I don't use OneNote.

thank you for that. I didn't think there was a mac one note but I thought something might be compatible. What is Office Live ID please?

If you use "Office 365" or "Windows LIve", you have to have a Microsoft ID to access your files online from anywhere. OneNote is supposed to use that ID. You should be able to upload files to your "Live" account with OneNote and then access them via the Upload Center app from Mac.
