Q: Trying to turn off find my iPad but says can't connect to network.  Any suggestions?

i Am trying to do an update on my iPad but am told to disable the find my iPad. However, I keep getting an error message that I have to check my network connection or it can't connect to the network. Anyone have any suggestions?

iPad 2, iOS 7.0.2
