Q: I recently moved and do not have an apple tv remote. I used the app for my apple tv before I moved. Now I can not get my apple tv to work with the app (I'm assuming because of different network ID's). Any idea?

I recently moved and did not have the apple tv remote. Now that I have a different internet provider I can not seem to access apple tv from my app. Any advice?

    If you have control over the network, can you change the network name and password to match what they used to be?

     

    Alternatively, do you have AppleTV 3 and an iPhone 4S or later running iOS 7 - if so you may be able to use this technqiue assuming AppleTV is up to date.

    (Not sure if you'd have to restore AppleTV via iTunes first using a microUSB cable to put it in an out of the box state).

     

    New Apple Remotes can also be purchased, or you could use a friend's/relative's remote if you needed to to set things up.  If your AppleTV was paired to your Remote you can unpair with another by holding menu and left arrow buttons together for 6 secs until you see a broken link on screen.

     

    Another option might be to run AppleTv on ethernet.
