touchpad on mac air 13" clicking when resting fingers

WHen i rest my fingers on my trackpad it registers as a "click" but i haven't clicked it yet. it's been doing that for a couple weeks. thought that it was my fingers but its been getting to the point where its becoming more annoying and apparent. Idk what to do about this. Is there any way it's fixable? my laptop is only 2 1/2 years old.

also i put hte slightest pressure it registers as a click on occations. So while i'll be moving the mouse across the screen it'll just click on random things duing the travel. it's REALLY annoying.
